Papantonio: Why The Occupy Movement Is Still Necessary

Share

It’s been six months since protestors began the Occupy Wall Street movement that made headlines across the world, but the actual movement was in the works for almost an entire year before it caught on. Several attempts to create a mass movement had already taken place in Zucotti Park, but never reached the fevered pitch that we saw last September. Mike Papantonio talks about this with author David DeGraw, one of the men who helped bring the plight of the 99% to the public’s attention, and his calls to action were the backbone of the Occupy Movement. A sacred world. A world that works for everybody. A world that is healing. A world of peace. You can’t just say “We demand a world of peace

Origins and Philosophy Behind Occupy Movement

Free love. No private property. Self identifying one’s gender. More socialist than Marx… Participatory Democracy and the Free Society… Considering the widespread support the movement is receiving from mainstream politicians, the ideological and philosophical underpinnings of the “Occupy” movement are quite bizarre.
